What you predict in the college football game
College football is the widest-open sport on TrueLine Daily. The gap between the best and worst FBS teams is enormous, so totals, win chances and spreads all swing further than in the pros.
Projected total
38–72 pointsThe combined points the matchup was projected to produce. College totals run higher and wider than the NFL's — a triple-option grind and an Air Raid shootout can be 25 points apart — so the slider covers 38–72 in half-point steps, and landing within 2 points counts as nailed.
Home win chance
0–100%How likely the home team was to win. This is where college football is most unlike the pros: a mismatch can be a 95% call, while a rivalry game between even teams sits near 50%. Knowing which kind of game you're looking at is half the read.
Point spread
0–100%How likely the favorite was to win by more than the point spread. Even when the spread is 30 points, it is set to split the game, so the answer sits near 50% — the skill is reading whether a big favorite keeps its foot down or rests its starters.
How a day plays out
Open the matchup
One real FBS game from earlier in the season, the same one for every player, with both teams' records as they stood that week. The result stays hidden — the point is your read, not your homework.
Make three predictions
Three guesses per number. After each one you're told whether the answer is higher or lower, so a miss still tells you something and you can close in.
Get scored against the close
When you finish, each number is scored 0–100 on how close you landed to where the market closed before the game. Your day's score is the average of the three.
Why you're scored against the closing number
College games swing on things that never show up in a box score — a backup quarterback, a trap game before a rivalry, a blowout that ends with the second string on the field. The final score is a noisy measure of whose read was right.
The number the market settled on right before kickoff folds all of that in, across a sport with well over a hundred FBS teams. Scoring against it rewards a good read even when a garbage-time touchdown changes the final.
It also makes college football the best sport to learn on. The range is so wide that a good read and a bad one are far apart, so your improvement shows up in your score quickly.

college football prediction game FAQ
What is the daily college football prediction game?
It is a free once-a-day college football game. You get one real FBS matchup from earlier in the season, with the result hidden, and predict three numbers about it — the projected total points, the home team's chance to win, and the chance the favorite covers the point spread. Every player gets the same matchup, with three guesses per number and a higher-or-lower hint after each.
Is this sports betting?
No. There is no wagering, no deposit, and nothing to win but bragging rights. You are predicting numbers about a game that has already been played, to test how well you read it. You cannot win or lose money.
Which college football games are used?
FBS games. Each day's matchup is picked from real games earlier in the season, and every player gets the same one. The team records shown are the records going into that game, not today's.
How many points should I guess for a college football total?
The slider runs 38 to 72 points in half-point steps. Most college totals close in the high 40s to around 60; tempo, offensive style and weather are what push a game toward either end — and two fast, pass-first offenses can go well past it.
How is my college football score calculated?
Each of the three numbers is scored 0 to 100 on how close it lands to the closing number, and your day's score is the average of the three. Nailing a number on your first guess scores more than getting there on your third.
Do I need an account to play?
No. You can play as a guest straight away. Creating an account saves your history and streak across devices, and your guest progress carries over when you sign in.
Can I play yesterday's college football game?
Yes, if it's recent: today and the 2 days before it stay open to everyone. Daily Plus opens the full archive of past slates, lets you play every league on the same day instead of one, and includes a streak repair each week.
